Amphenol Joins RAISE-SE Robotics Skills Initiative

Amphenol Ltd is supporting a new regional initiative aimed at strengthening robotics and automation skills across the Southeast of England.

The RAISE-SE (Robotics Adoption, Industry Skills and Engagement – Southeast) project, led by Canterbury Christ Church University, has secured more than £200,000 in funding from Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)

The project brings together universities, colleges and industry partners to address skills shortages and support businesses adopting robotics and automation technologies. Alongside Amphenol, the consortium includes EKC Group, Didactic Services Ltd, Future Skills CIC and HSSMI Consulting Ltd.

RAISE-SE will develop a coordinated programme of professional development, outreach and employer engagement, with training designed around the practical skills required to install, operate, maintain and integrate robotic systems.

The programme will support learners from GCSE level through to degree level, as well as technicians, operators, career changers and people looking to enter emerging technology sectors. Training will be developed with employers to reflect current industry requirements.

The project will also work with schools, colleges and community groups across Kent and the wider Southeast to encourage more people to pursue careers in engineering and robotics.

As a consortium partner, Amphenol will support industry engagement and help ensure the programme reflects the practical skills requirements of employers.
